The 9th ABoVE Science Meeting (ASTM-9) was held in San Diego, California from January 23 to January 26. This was the launch of Phase 3 of ABoVE (2022-2025) that is focused on synthesis and filling knowledge gaps. Leads from the principal Working Groups summarized progress to date (Modeling, Fire and Insects, Wildlife & Ecosystem Services, Vegetation Dynamics, Carbon Dynamics, Hydrology & Permafrost, Spectral Imaging). PI's of the 20 new Phase 3 projects introduced their new research. Breakout sessions allowed open discussion of various issues. There were 96 in-person attendees and 72 online participants.
