Product Title:  Background deck tasking for the ABoVE core and extended domain
Description:  PGC will work to have the ABoVE study domain and the circumpolar Arctic north of 60N latitude tasked in stereo-panchromatic and multispectral high resolution imagery (using the DigitalGlobe suite of commercial satellites). This could take 2-3 years to complete depending on seasonal differences in light availability, weather (including cloud cover) and competition for satellites.
Expected Users:  ABoVE researchers who meet the criteria of the DigitalGlobe Nextview License.

Product Title:  Arctic Mosaic of the ABoVE study domain
Description:  A ~0.5m panchromatic, orthorectified Arctic Mosaic of the ABoVE core and extended study domain including areas south of 60N latitude will be created using high resolution imagery from DigitalGlobe. A goal of the mosaic is to ensure imagery with similar temporal characteristics is used throughout the study domain.

Product Title:  Elevation models of the ABoVE core and extended domain
Description:  PGC currently has preliminary workflows to derive high-resolution DEMs* from stereoscopic imagery using the Ames Stereo Pipeline (ASP). PGC and the ABoVE Science Cloud staff and users will work together as needed to improve and complete the workflow needed to develop elevation models. Upon completion of the stereo DEM workflow, PGC and the ABoVE Science Cloud Team will produce a 2-10m posting DEM product for the ABoVE domain where data are available and share the workflow used to generate the product. This product should be benchmarked against NGAs GCPs and other available elevation models when appropriate by those researchers interested in using or evaluating the elevation models.

*A note about these DEMs: The digital elevation/surface models (DEMs or DSMs) to be created for this project consist of surface elevation data that has not been corrected for vegetation and built structures. These DEMs are constructed without ground control and accuracy is expected to be several meters in the vertical dimension. Additional errors in the DEM arise from failure in the matching software due to clouds, shadows and lack of contrast. For more information see http://www.pgc.umn.edu/elevation/stereo.
