On behalf of Hank Margolis:

Hello NASA Carbon Cycle and Ecosystems Community,

I want to let you all know that I have officially started as the Program Manager for Terrestrial Ecology at NASA Headquarters. I am thrilled to have this new opportunity and I look forward to working with all of you to advance our science. The future of NASA’s Terrestrial Ecology Program is bright as we move into a new era of Earth remote sensing. Our field campaigns, airborne campaigns, satellite missions, and ecosystem modeling efforts will offer great opportunities to advance our understanding of the role of terrestrial ecosystem processes in the functioning of our planet.

I inherit a well-developed and well-run program due in large measure to the formidable efforts of my predecessors, Diane Wickland and Kathy Hibbard. I also benefit from the large, dynamic community of researchers who have made such great scientific advances in the past and will no doubt continue to do so into the future. I could not be more excited.

Sincerely,

Hank Margolis
